Bramble Court is an Extra Care development of 42 one and two bedroom apartments along with 4 No. Extra Care Bungalows. It was completed in February 2009 as part of the Hanover Housing Association National Framework which delivers Extra Care housing solutions around the country. The building was two storey in nature and comprised of a contemporary mix of external materials and framed a public car parking entrance courtyard and private sensory garden and terrace area. The building won a commendation from the LABC for design in affordable housing scheme. Features of the scheme were the three-storey glazed atrium which acted as the focal point for residents and guests. A host of additional features within the building for residents include a hobbies recreation room, treatment area and lounge restaurant. The scheme also achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 equivalent on the Eco Homes scale and also provided 10% renewable energy through solar hot water and geothermal ground source heat pump providing under-floor heating.
