Reserved Matters Application Approved for 42 New Houses at the Former Waste Mill at Cowlersley Lane

Kirklees’ Council have approved the Reserved Matters Application for 42 new houses at the former Waste Mill at Cowlersley Lane, Lower Linthwite, Huddersfield. Originally granted approval in 2013, Brewster Bye Architects and Mark Oliver Homes have worked closely to achieve the current scheme on what has been a stalled development site in this part of Huddersfield. The site enjoys an elevated outlook over the Colne Valley and the design team were keen to ensure as many of the proposed houses could enjoy this outlook. Built predominantly of Yorkshire artstone and matching grey roofs, the development is both contemporary and in keeping with its surroundings – which include three grade II* listed cottages next door. Work is due to start on site this summer and will be phased over the next two years.
