Planning Approval for Stockwell Lane, Knaresborough

Planning Approval has been granted for 10 no. contemporary dwellings at 4 Stockwell Lane, Knaresborough for our client CoHo.

The development replaces the existing Hollybank building, previously used as North Yorkshire Council offices, which is due to be demolished. The scheme is composed as three terrace blocks, arranged round a shared-surface muse court. The larger townhouses are situated with frontages onto Stockwell Lane to reflect the prominence of the existing building.

A restrained palette of facing materials of red brick, stone detailing and render has been used to complement the local context as well as the proportions and scale of the elevational treatment.

The palette of materials and the use of familiar architectural forms such as gables and pitched roofs will serve to unify the development into a heterogenic streetscape along Stockwell Lane.
