Following a successful £500,000 refurbishment project at Hanover Court in Haxby, York our Director Mark Henderson & Architectural Technologist Ben Raybould attended celebrations to mark the completion of the development.
The estate was refurbished with a fresh external look making the buildings more aesthetically pleasing. The new communal lounge and gardens are now vibrant and welcoming to the residential area.
Our Architectural Technologist, Ben Raybould made a speech at the event commenting: ‘The scheme was particularly challenging due to the non-traditional construction of the buildings, however by working closely with key consultants we were able to provide something that is thermally efficient, aesthetically pleasing and long lasting.
The scheme was made of three main components; a new day centre, external wall insulation and a landscaped seating area. Each were carefully approached in terms of design and from the outset we liaised very closely with the residents of the scheme to ensure their requirements and ambitions were met.’
The celebration was made even more exciting as resident, Jessie Hall’s 93rd birthday coincided with the celebrations, which saw her undertake her first ever trombone lesson!
