Friday night saw Nathan Wilkinson and Mark Henderson representing Brewster Bye Architects at the RICS East Midlands Awards in Leicester.
Greenwich Gardens, Derby was shortlisted in two separate categories (Best Residential and Community Benefit) against some very stiff competition therefore to discover it had won Best Residential Projects was a wonderful surprise.
Greenwich Gardens is a project that we at BBA are extremely proud of. Consisting of 98 units it is one of the biggest projects completed in the office in the past few years and is the largest Older Persons Housing scheme we have designed to date. It is an enormous achievement for us and we are delighted to see a fantastic piece of architecture recognised within the industry awards.
Greenwich Gardens is an innovative scheme for both residents and members of the local community that has now set a precedent for future developments within the Older Persons Housing sector.
The judges were impressed with the ethos of the scheme focusing on the creation of neighbourhoods and communities which is emphasised by the clear design intent, including the impact of the interior design strategy – RICS awards literature
BBA currently have 4 other projects that have been shortlisted for awards, we hope we can repeat our current success at the future awards in the coming weeks.
