The Bradford Foyer development was one of the first purpose-designed Foyers completed in the UK. Its remit was to provide residential apartments for vulnerable young people with on-site training facilities and 24 hour support. The development, undertaken in two phases, replaced a former Salvation Army citadel and provides 64 bed spaces together with a computer suite, training rooms and associated support facilities. Bradford College uses the building to provide adult-education courses for both Foyer residents and the wider community. The development also includes a nursery and crèche. The project, funded by The National Lottery, Brunel Housing Association, The Housing Corporation, English Partnerships and City Challenge, involved liaison with numerous stakeholders and took many years to come to fruition.
