The Residence is a development of 51 contemporary family homes comprising of a mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses in response to a market need for this area of Doncaster.
To the west of the site, the layout is configured to provide frontage to the lake with the provision of three storey town-houses. These have lounges located at the first floor level with a terrace providing views over the lake. Sensitively designed, each of the houses contain familiar forms such as gables, that are reflective of the local vernacular are presented with a contemporary architectural language by using brick as the predominant material.
The proposed houses will achieve a 10% reduction in CO2 emissions by adopting a fabric first approach; enabling the residents to get the benefit of lower fuel bills without having to make any lifestyle changes. This method allows for easier maintenance whilst reducing the amount of energy consumption of the dwellings.
