The Beeches development has been designed to replace an existing nursing home facility which was no longer fit for purpose. The scheme of 20 Extra Care older persons apartments located in two linked three-storey blocks with associated restaurant and lounge, laundry and staff facilities. Four self-contained apartments for sale to older persons are located in a separate two-storey block. The development is set around a mature landscaped garden. Constructed from natural Yorkshire stone with a pitched slate roof, the scheme is designed architecturally to reflect the local Menston vernacular and sits seamlessly within its context. The building has been developed to achieve BREEAM Multi-Residential 'Very Good' rating and includes photo-voltaic panels located on the roof.
