The Thornbury Medical Centre provides an attractive, flexible and low-maintenance building which serves both the Primary Healthcare needs of the local community and makes a distinctive and positive addition to the local built environment. Forming part of Bradford and Airedale NHS LIFT - a multi-million pound programme of improvements and expansion of primary care facilities - the centre on Rushton Avenue, Thornbury is a new purpose-built surgery. The public and clinical areas are located at ground floor level with staff areas being split between ground and first floor levels. The clinical area has been designed to wrap around the general waiting area which provides pleasant views out over the adjacent landscaping to the south. The form of the two-storey element allows for the potential future expansion of both staff and clinical areas to the north.
