The Park Lane Centre design was developed through consultations with our client (Bradford Trident) and organisations which serve the immediate community in this area; namely Hutson Street Community Centre, Bradford College and St Josephs RC Church and Primary School. The scheme went through a public consultation exercise; the results of which were positive and comments incorporated where possible. The centre has been integrated into a larger urban design framework which includes “The Living Street” which is part of the route 66 cycle way. The main access to the building is located off the “Living Street” with all public areas being located immediately adjacent: café, hall, reception, day-care centre and foyer/exhibition space. The educational facilities and offices are located to the rear with IT facilities and community business areas located on the first floor. The building was constructed in two phases, with a large extension providing increased office space and a distinctive northern façade.
