THE FIRST students have moved into Yorkshire’s first ‘five star halls of residence’ in Leeds following a multi-million pound investment and a progressive design from Brewster Bye Architects.
The scheme, known as The Edge, has been developed by Iconinc which is part of Parklane Properties. Located on Burley Road, the development consists of 131 studios and apartments, complete with self-contained kitchens and bathrooms. Every room is furnished to an exceptional standard with pictures of city skylines as well as sporting, literary and business icons adorning the walls.
Services on offer at The Edge include a 24-hour concierge, laundry service, gym with personal trainers, pool table, Xbox consoles, a cinema room, a study room and an outdoor area. Plus, all the development’s residents receive a complimentary breakfast every morning.
Chris Austin, Managing Director at Brewster Bye Architects, says: “The Edge is a fantastic scheme for Brewster Bye to be associated with and we’re delighted to see the finished result. It’s the attention to detail in the development’s design that makes it particularly special, with each living space featuring an innovative design style, practical layout, high quality furniture and exceptional finish. Other design highlights include ambient lighting, dynamic storage and flatscreen TVs that face both the bedroom and living areas.“The development is one of the highest specified student accommodation schemes in the UK and has brought a whole new standard of student living to Leeds that surpasses anything else in the market, so it’s no surprise that it has immediately become a hugely popular place to live.”
