Work Complete on a Former Pack of Cards Public House for a Residential Development

Work is now complete and the first tenants have moved into the new residential development on the former Pack of Cards Public House in York.

Fourteen apartments have been developed by RHW Developments and constructed by local contractor Woodhouse Barry on land in Lindsey Avenue, where the Pack of Cards pub used to stand. Lindsey Avenue is at the edge of a mid 20th Century housing development in close proximity to York City Centre.

The layout of the building addresses the street and allows space for off street car parking and soft landscaping at the rear. The development is built in a sustainable location with excellent access to local shops, bus routes, medical services and a Post Office.

The development has been built to high energy efficiency standards, Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and Lifetime Homes standards to ensure they could be easily modified as tenants’ needs changed.
