A prestigious new homes development in Harrogate, which has been created within a wing of a boutique hotel, will see Brewster Bye’s innovative design come to fruition when work completes early next month.
All six of the two bedroom apartments and a three bedroom town house, which are being developed by Ambiance Developments, are located in a prime residential area on Coppice Drive, close to Harrogate town centre.
Architect Andrew Chapman from Brewster Bye Architects says: “This scheme has seen the conversion of a 21 bedroom annex at the Kimberley Hotel into a range of hugely desirable homes and it has been particularly exciting to work on due to the location of the build in this sought after part of Harrogate town centre.
“As part of the design process, we were very keen to maximise the attractive views over the woodland at the rear of the building, and therefore incorporated timber balconies on the second and third floors which are both visually attractive and also provide buyers with unrivalled views from their open plan apartments. The ground floor apartments enjoy private gardens and decking overlooking the surrounding natural woodland. In addition, we incorporated attractive and modern timber canopies into the external design at the entrance to each apartments which has enhanced the overall look of the development and fits perfectly with its setting.”
Steve Gaunt from Ambiance Developments says: “When applying for planning permission to convert this building, it was essential that the design was absolutely spot on and well-thought through.
“Brewster Bye has a vast amount of experience when it comes to designing first-rate homes and the firm also has an impressive track-record working on hotel schemes, which made them the ideal fit for this project.
“We’re delighted with the result, which has created a superb range of luxurious homes that maximise the location and surroundings. The development is also striking a cord with buyers looking for a unique home that is finished to an exceptional standard within easy walking distance of Harrogate town centre.”
Three of the seven homes have already sold with the remaining properties, which are being marketed for sale by Strutt & Parker ranging in price from £325,000 to £345,000.Brewster Bye is also currently working on a number of projects in the North Yorkshire area including the prestigious St Leonard’s Place residential conversion of former council offices into 40 luxurious homes in York.
