Planning permission granted for new residential development in Normanton

Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of vacant brownfield land to provide 140 new homes.

The site is located between Normanton and the outlying village of Altofts and will provide much needed family housing. The development will consist of a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom high quality new homes for sale, private rent, shared ownership and affordable rent.

The houses will have alternating brick and roof tile hues to create a varied streetscape. The larger detached houses will be built from reconstituted stone and render.

The road layout will consist of a series of organically-formed shared-surface courts off a central avenue. The avenue will be greened through the careful positioning of new trees together with shrub planning in the front and side gardens.

The development incorporates an area of public open play space. This will provide an attractive entrance to the development and benefit all residents as well as the wider community.
