Friday 20th July saw 11 brave members of staff from BBA and 4 volunteers from St George’s Crypt and Leeds Community Foundation take part in a sponsored abseil from the eleventh floor of the City Island building in Leeds.
With assistance and coaching from the instructors from Leeds Wall, we all successfully abseiled down one of Brewster Bye’s most notable and iconic buildings which was at a height of over 30m.
The aim of this event was to mark our 20th anniversary in an exciting way and also to raise much needed funds for our chosen charities: Leeds Community Foundation and St George’s Crypt.
A special thanks need to go to Daryl, Jon and Alan from Leeds Wall, as without them the abseil would not have been able to take place. They provided us with excellent training and support; allowing even the most nervous of participants to complete the abseil successfully.
