| The development consists of 3000m2 (32,000sqft) of high quality office accommodation on four floors above sixty undercroft and external car spaces and conference facilities. The building has received BREEAM “excellent” energy efficiency rating, one of only sixteen in the UK at the time. An ashlar stone entrance rotunda with an external steel colonnade linked to the main body of the building by a fully glazed staircase and reception area acts as a visual node visible across the River Aire. Office accommodation is to the first, second, third & fourth floors with the final floor recessed to provide a balcony for the executive accommodation. Particular sustainable features of the building include the overall design and construction as a ‘heat sink’ with natural ventilation. Further sustainable elements have since been included with the introduction of geothermal heat pumps which provide an energy and capital efficient heating system. |
